Dear Parents and Students, After almost three months operation with the new meal card system in place, we can now see a trend of students “topping up” on their meal cards. (Or in many cases not topping up!) Many students are now in a negative balance, some exceeding Vnd1,000,000. This negative balance continues to grow week by week. We have always stated that we would never refuse any student a meal should he or she forget his/her card and of course we wish we could continue with this procedure. However, judging from the current situation, we think it is necessary to now set a credit limit on the cards, which will ensure all students become aware of the importance of not getting into debt and that there needs to be a limit to a debt. This limit is Vnd 300,000. As from Wednesday 9th November, should students in grades four through twelve reach a negative balance of over Vnd300,000, their card will be refused, therefore any purchase of food on that day would be declined. Each time a student goes through the cashier, they receive a receipt which indicates their current balance. This information will also be posted in the canteen and at the high school kiosk ensuring students are aware of the deadline to top up their cards and the consequences of exceeding the credit limit. We hope you understand and appreciate this decision. Yours sincerely, Stephen Kerslake
