Dear Parents, We have come to the end of another successful, albeit busy, week in the high school. This is a good time to reflect on the positive nature of our students and the level of energy they have for all the different after school activity opportunities throughout the week. It is great to see so many students demonstrating balance in life and developing a sense of self. This is also a good time to thank all of the families who attended the two College Night Information Sessions this past week. If you were unable to attend, please contact Mr. Goetz, our HS Counselor, for information about the college application process. Next week, on Tuesday, Feb 14, will be our third College Night which will be translated into Vietnamese. You may contact the counseling office if you have any questions. Yesterday, our MRISA Boys and Girls Basketball teams departed for Cambodia to participate in the weekend tournament. At the time of this writing, both our boys’ team and girls’ team won their first round of games. Go Dragons! This week also begins the first set of informational meetings with students about their course selections for next school year. Today, Grade 10 students attended an information meeting explaining our AP and IB Programs. These two programs are coordinated by Mr. Tyro. On Tuesday, ALL grade 9-11 students will attend information meetings about the course selection process. The information students receive will also be posted on the students’ Moodle pages so you, as a parent, will be able to have access to the information with your son/daughter. Discussions with students about course selections will take place over the next couple of weeks with the actual electronic sign up beginning on Monday, 27 Feb. If you have any questions about the course selection process please contact Mr. Goetz. Next week will also prove to be a busy week. Activities and events happening are as follows:
Thank you for your support of our programs and being so encouraging with your children, our students. Please do not hesitate to contact the HS Office if you have questions or concerns. We feel fortunate to be able to work with such a supportive, active parent community. Enjoy your weekend, Rhonda Isley |
