Dear Parents,

Thank you all for attending our parent/teacher conferences these past two days.  It is our hope that this was a rewarding experience for you and your children.  As I have mentioned in this space a few times, the cornerstone of communication at schools is among the parents, students, and teachers, and the communication between these three parties should be particularly strong.

The conferences assist in that communication but you are welcome to use e-mail, PowerSchool, and Moodle to aid in those efforts.  Research is clear that parent involvement is a key to student success and we certainly encourage it.  Should you have any comments about the parent/teacher conferences, please do not hesitate to contact me.

MRISA Basketball
We are very proud of our MRISA basketball teams who are in Laos this weekend participating in the MRISA Junior Basketball Championships.  Best of luck to them and coaches Johnston, Wittry, and Murphy.

Academic Concern and Academic Probation letters have been sent home

This week and next, we will be sending hardcopy letters home to those students whom are of Academic Concern or whom are on Academic Probation.  The intent of this process is to identify students whom are struggling academically and make sure that fact is clearly understood by the student and parents.  The status of Academic Probation is particularly serious and requires action by parents and students to remedy the situation over a period of time.  Please refer to the HS student handbook for these details.

Have a nice weekend

all the best,

Paul Johnson
MS/HS Principal
