The end of 1st Quarter is Friday, October 10, 2014. It’s hard to believe that we are already 1/4 through the school year. This is an important time to check in with your child about their progress so far this year. The quarter grade is a representation of their work in the first half of the semester. This is not a permanent grade (with the exception of 6th Grade Exploratory which is a quarter length class). These quarter grades will continue to change over the rest of the semester. It is the semester grade that is recorded for their report cards and transcripts. The first semester ends Dec. 19th.
At the quarter, we hold Parent Teacher Conferences to discuss your child’s progress so far. Please plan time on either Thursday, Oct. 23 (from 4-8) or on Friday, Oct. 24 (8-12, 12:30-2) for you and your child to attend Parent Teacher Conferences. This is a great opportunity to talk with teachers about your child’s progress at the half-way point in the semester. As you are thinking about blocking out time in your calendar, it might be helpful to keep in mind that the busiest time is the evening session on Thursday while the quietest time is Friday from 12:30-2. We can’t wait to see you at conferences!
