Starting the Elementary School Year
July 27, 2015
Dear Elementary Parents,
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year. We hope that your family has enjoyed the summer months and your children are eager for the start of school. During the summer, we have been preparing for a great school year.
When you walk on campus, you will notice a number of facilities improvements. Some examples include an outdoor garden area, planter beds for student gardening, an elementary Maker Space, an improved entrance, and a remodeled auditorium.
As the school year begins, you will notice a number of educational improvements. Some examples include exciting units of study that integrate various subjects, the introduction of drama instruction in many grades, a schedule that improves the learning process, and an increased focus on our five core values: Academic Excellence, Balance in Life, Dedicated Service, Sense of Self, and Respect for All.
Attached to this letter are some documents that will be helpful as you prepare your child for starting the new school year:
- Important Dates for Start of School: This shows the date, time, event, and notes for events for all grades, as well as events for specific grades.
- New School Year Orientation: This event is on August 11 for all returning and new students and parents.
- Preparations Checklist: This is the list of tasks to be accomplished by families during the August 11 orientation during the “school year preparations”.
We look forward to seeing you at the New School Year Orientation.
