Dear Parents of SSIS Students –

This morning was our first day during which we required all persons entering campus to do so through the new turnstiles. The entire administrative team was out in force at 7:30 am this morning to help with the distribution of new cards and to assist parents and students with the new system.

The day was not without it challenges. Entering and exiting campus before 7:45 am, and after 8:00 am, works very smoothly, with only a few non-functioning cards or slow machines.

The challenge was the rush of people trying to enter or leave campus between 7:45 am and 8:00 am. We also anticipate a challenge this afternoon with the rush of people exiting campus at the end of the day between 3:10 pm and 3:25 pm

IMG_5236The administrative team will continue to be out front for the next few days as we evaluate the process. We are committed to a safe and secure campus which can only be achieved by restricting access and swiping cards. At the same time, we will do our best to respond to concerns about wait-times and the number of turnstiles. We will do what we can to improve the experience.

For the moment, I would suggest that a few minutes change in your arrival time on campus can have a significant impact on the speed at which you can enter and exit.

If you have any concerns or suggestions, please do not hesitate to share them with me.

Sincerely,

Mark Sylte, Head of School
