Dear Elementary Parents,
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year. We hope that your family has enjoyed the summer months and your children are eager for the start of school. During the summer, we have been preparing for a great school year.
When you walk on campus, you will notice a number of facilities improvements. Some examples include improvements in landscaping, school signage, air conditioning the elementary Maker Space, interior and exterior painting, stadium seating in the auditorium, creation of a long-jump track on the field, and significant improvements to the playground area for early childhood/kindergarten students.
As the school year begins, you will notice a number of educational improvements. Some examples include new exciting SuperUnits, strengthening of the Vietnamese language program, and strengthening the elementary math program.
Attached to this letter are some documents that will be helpful as you prepare your child for starting the new school year:
- Important Dates for Start of School: This shows the date, time, event, and notes for events for all grades, as well as events for specific grades.
- New School Year Orientation: This event is on August 9 for all returning and new students and parents.
- Preparations Checklist: This is the list of tasks to be accomplished by families during the August 9 orientation during the “school year preparations”.
