Dear SSIS School Community,
The Board would like to provide an update on the Head of School Search process.
The Search Committee members have selected three finalists from a pool of qualified candidates, which came from over 30 applicants for the position. The selection of three finalists came after a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation process that included screening, interviewing qualified candidates, and checking multiple references for each qualified candidate. The Search Committee selected the finalists based on the criteria as determined through feedback from the school community solicited in May 2017, consideration of the Strategic Plan, recommendations from last year’s WASC report, and input by the Board and Search Committee. The Search Committee believes these three candidates are the best qualified to meet our School’s needs.
The finalist candidates and their spouses have been invited to visit School, and we anticipate the first visit will start on September 6. The three finalist candidates (in order of timing of visits to School) are:
1. Ms. Katherine Brewer, Head of School, Shanghai Community International School
2. Dr. Catriona Moran, Deputy Head of School, Taipei American School
3. Ms. Rhonda Norris, Head of School, Carol Morgan School
Details of the finalists and their schedules will be forthcoming shortly.
All of the members of our community will have the opportunity to meet each finalist, and we hope you will take the time to welcome each finalist and their spouse to School, and participate in the process.
