SSIS HoS Search – Visit by Dr. Catriona Moran

    Dear SSIS Community,

    We are excited to welcome HoS candidate Dr. Catriona Moran to School on September 11-14. During her visit, Dr. Moran will meet with students, parents, teachers, support staff, and the Administration.  The meetings provide an opportunity for you to meet with Dr. Moran and ask whatever questions you may have. It is also an opportunity for Dr. Moran to get to know our community. We hope you will participate in this important process, and share your feedback with the Search Committee.

    In particular, we would like to highlight that Dr. Moran’s meeting with parents is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept 12th, at 2:00 PM at the High School MPR (4th Fl.)   We hope you will take the time to attend this meeting.

    Each candidate brings their unique education background, experiences and strengths.  Dr. Moran’s brief biography as follows:

    Dr. Catriona Moran earned her Bachelor of Education Degree in Elementary Education from University of Limerick in Ireland.  She earned her Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Southern Queensland in Australia.  She then earned her Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of San Diego in the USA.

    Dr. Moran has worked as an elementary school teacher in Ireland and Japan.  As an administrator, she has worked as a K-9 Principal in Japan, and a K-9 Curriculum Director at a different school in Japan.  In Taiwan, she has worked as the K-12 Language Arts/EAL Coordinator, then Lower School Principal, and also served as Acting Head of School.  Dr. Moran is currently the Deputy Head of School at Taipai American school in Taipei, Taiwan.

    We look forward to hosting Dr. Moran and her husband Mr. Gerald Moran, who will be joining in the visit, and hope that you will attend the meetings scheduled. Your input is important to the Search Committee as we move forward in the process of selecting the HoS.
