PowerSchool Learning Parent Training 8:15 AM Thursday, January 11 – MPR

49

Dear Parents,

What:  PowerSchool Learning Training
When:  8:15 AM Thursday, 11 January
Where:  MPR (High School 4th Floor)

Parent involvement at Saigon South International School is critical to our students’ success. To enhance that involvement, SSIS will move from Moodle to a new learning management system (LMS) called PowerSchool Learning for the 2018-2019 school year.  This move will allow parents easier access to their child’s online learning environment.

PowerSchool Learning is a digital classroom extension that connects seamlessly to the existing PowerSchool student information system. Teachers will use PowerSchool Learning to store and present digital resources and links and to engage students in blended learning strategies.

One of the many outstanding features of PowerSchool Learning is the availability of an individualized Parent Account. Parents in grades 4-12 will be given a username and password to access their child(ren)’s PowerSchool Learning portals containing classes and pages created by their teachers.   This will allow for better parent communication with teachers about assignments, instructional content, and events.

Beginning in January 2018, teachers will transition from Moodle to PowerSchool Learning with full implementation for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Please be on the lookout in early January for more information about parent account access.
