MS Lock In: Sweet Success for StuCo

62

The MS Lock In was a great success!  This event was organized and run by the Middle School StuCo and was supported by the SSIS PTA. Over 100 students in grades 6-8 joined together for 24 hours of fun and friendship.  With access to the gym and auditorium, the students had no shortage of activities to participate in.  Student in the gym played hours of basketball, soccer, volleyball, and badminton.  In the auditorium, students played board games, card games, video games, socialized and watched movies.  StuCo even arranged a highly competitive trivia game.  As the wee hours of the morning arrived, students also began to drift into slumber.  By 4:30am almost all had be struck by the Sandman and were sleeping.  At 6am, students woke up for a delicious PTA sponsored pancake breakfast.  After filling their stomachs, the students worked hard to clean up and then headed home (where most of them napped part of the day).

We are so proud of our StuCo members for their work on this event.  It ran exceptionally well and was a huge success.  We also thank all of our parent volunteers who helped with each shift (7:30-11:30pm, 11:30pm-3:30am, 3:30-7:30am).  We couldn’t have done it without them!
