Dear SSIS Parents,
Yesterday, a High School student remarked, “I feel great, I think I am adjusting really well to the school;” it was only her second day at SSIS. Truly, in my 35 years in education, this is one of the smoothest start-ups to the school year I have experienced. Great thanks to our staff, teachers and to you, parents, for your support and cooperation during the process. And, of course, to our students for the enthusiasm and energy, they bring to their learning every day. I hope this year continues to be an excellent year “intellectually and personally” (SSIS Mission Statement) for each and every one of them and I look forward to getting to know them better.
As the new Head of School, I would like to learn more from our SSIS parents. What is going particularly well for your child? What do you hope we work on to improve for the future? What do you think important for the new Head of SSIS to know? I’d like to explore these, and other questions, with you over the coming months.
I find that smaller group discussions allow for deeper and more productive meetings, and therefore, I am setting up four “Coffee with Dr. Moran” meeting times on the following dates:
- August 21 Tuesday, 8:15-9:30 AM, ES Flex Room, (Bldg B room 310)
- August 29 Wednesday, 8:15-9:30 AM, ES Flex Room (Bldg B room 310)
- September 4 Tuesday,8:15-9:30 AM, ES Flex Room (Bldg B room 310)
- September 18 Tuesday,8:15-9:30 AM, ES Flex Room (Bldg B room 310)
Please sign up here for the date that suits you best (30 sign-up slots for each coffee morning). I am looking forward to speaking with all of you. If you are unable to make any of the scheduled times, please know that my door is always open and I welcome you to make an appointment for a visit by contacting Ms. Hien Le at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All good wishes,
Dr. Catriona Moran
Head of School
