The end of 1st Quarter is Friday, October 5, 2018. It’s hard to believe that we are almost 1/4 through the school year. This is an important time to check in with your child about their progress so far this year. The first quarter grade represents all of the student’s work between August and October 5th. Report cards for Quarter 1 will be emailed to all parents on Oct. 10th.
SSIS is hosting Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, Oct. 11 (4-8pm) and Friday, Oct. 12 (8am-1pm) for middle school parents and students (high school conferences are at the same time). These conferences give each parent an opportunity to talk directly with teachers about their child’s progress. Students are encouraged to attend these conferences with their parents. Students will have an early dismissal on Thursday and no school on Friday due to these conferences.
The conference style for middle school parents and students is an open arena style conference. This means that no appointments are needed. We are hoping for 100% attendance on the part of parents and students.
In planning your time, it will take approximately 1.5 hours per child to speak with all teachers (each child has 8 teachers). The busiest conference time usually is Thursday evening. If you can attend on Friday, you will experience significantly less wait time.
We hope that with early planning, we will reach our 100% attendance goal.
