ES Measures of Academic Progress for grades 3, 4 and 5

438

Dear Parents and Students:

Starting the week of September 15, SSIS students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will participate in an external standardized assessment called Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP). The MAP tests measure your child’s instructional level and academic progress over time in the areas of reading, language arts, and mathematics.

The testing schedule is as follows:

  • Grade 4 & 5: Week of September 15th -19th
  • Grade 3: Week of September 22nd – 26th

As with each school day, be sure your child has slept well, had a nutritious breakfast and comes to school with a positive attitude.  Students should not attempt to ‘study’ for the test, as the assessment is broad and comprehensive in design.

The data derived from this external assessment will help inform our attention to your child’s individual growth and achievement.  The results will not contribute to your child’s grades or report card.  Additional information about the MAP test will be provided by Curriculum Director Tina Fossgreen.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Dan Keller

EC/ES Principal
