Dear SSIS Fifth Grade Parents,
We are excited to share information about our upcoming field trip to Cat Tien National Park on February 22-24, 2023. Overnight trips are often the highlight of a student’s fifth-grade year. Our trip to Cat Tien National Park will be no exception. We will meet with animal researchers, observe animals in rescue and research centers, observe ecosystems closely as scientists, and hike. The trip will be the cornerstone of our ecosystem unit as scientists. Thirteen SSIS staff will join the fifth grade on this trip.
We would like to invite parents to an informational meeting about our trip to Cat Tien on Monday, December 19th at 1:15 pm in the Auditorium. The meeting will provide you with an opportunity to get much more information about the trip, and to ask any other questions you may have.
We have also included a packing list so you can begin to think about items that you may want to gather for the trip.
If you have any questions you would like us to address at the meeting, please add them to this question sheet and we will do our best to address them during the meeting.
UNIT CELEBRATION – Monday, December 19th from 2:05 pm in the Homerooms
After the informational meeting, you are all invited to celebrate the Unit 2 learning ‘Essence of Life’ that has been taking place in the Grade 5 classrooms. The students will be showcasing their extended research projects and a media piece created to raise awareness about access to basic human needs.
