ES Assemblies-STUCO, Sports and Swim Team Recognitions

35

On March 27, 2015, the Elementary Students in Grades 1-5 gathered together in the auditorium to  recognize students and their coaches who participated on sport or swim teams, in the first two sessions of this school year . Afterwards, all students participated in a school spirit chant. There will be an end of year  assembly to recognize those students currently involved in sports.

This was followed by the Student Council representatives sharing this year’s student council proposals to the elementary student body. They shared the exciting news about their hat proposal being approved by the administration and explained the details. Other proposals they are working on include: spirit week, fundraising movie night, dress up day.

We ended the assembly with the SSIS school song, sung by the staff and student body as they exited the auditorium. Oh yes, and the SSIS Dragon mascot was there too!

The purpose of these monthly student-led assemblies is to build school community,  reinforce Core Values  and celebrate student learning that happens every day here at SSIS.

Our next assembly will be on April 20, where the elementary school community will gather to kick off the week to celebrate Earth Day on April 22. Parents are welcome to attend.
