Head of School Update, February 6: Extended School Closure

309

Dear SSIS Parents,

We have been directed by the Department of Education and Training to extend our temporary school closure until February 16th.

We recognize the importance of minimizing the impact of the campus closure on your child’s education and will continue to deliver the curriculum to our students through Virtual School. Teachers will continue to report to school to support your children’s online learning.

We have been very pleased with the engagement levels of our students throughout last week. Using a wide variety of tools and techniques, our teachers are making use of the many existing online solutions that SSIS has, as well as coming up with new creative ways to adapt teaching to our Virtual School.

Please remember that the coronavirus can be spread from person to person, therefore it is not advisable for large groups of people to gather. Both children and adults should avoid large gatherings of people, and locations such as shopping malls, movie theaters, and large indoor play centers.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any other questions or concerns.

All best wishes,

Dr. Catriona Moran

Head of School
