Head of School Update, February 14: New Directive from Vietnam Government – SSIS Extends Closure

341

Dear SSIS Parents,

Contrary to our earlier message today, we have just been directed by the People’s Committee to extend our temporary school closure until February 29th

We were very much looking forward to having your children back in school with us, but we respect the government’s citywide directive for implementing all possible precautionary measures for your children’s safety.

We will continue to deliver the curriculum to our students through Virtual School, and you will receive further information on next week’s Virtual School on Sunday.

Teachers will continue to report to school to support your children’s online learning. Students will not be allowed on campus, during the extended temporary school closure.

Our divisional leadership teams have been reaching out to students throughout the past weeks to ensure their wellbeing. Should you feel that this situation is becoming a concern for your child, please let us know. Your children’s academic, physical, social and emotional wellbeing is our greatest priority and we will do our best to help your family through the challenges that the Novel Coronavirus is presenting to our community.

All best wishes,

Dr. Catriona Moran

Head of School
