Dear SSIS Parents,
What an exciting and eventful week we have had on and off campus – middle schoolers celebrated movement in a day dedicated to connecting and reconnecting with friends and classmates. For those on campus, the day was filled with activities indoors and outdoors, and all MS students participated in engaging activities to challenge themselves physically and intellectually. On the same day, high schoolers attended Career Day, an incredible event that could not have happened without the gracious support of our community – thank you to all who participated. And in our elementary school this week, students immersed themselves in understanding our environment through various activities.
Also at the beginning of the week, we conducted an important health and safety drill, further establishing and confirming the protocols that we have in place in the event of an F0 on campus. Our teams worked closely together and we are confident in the efficiency of our health and safety protocols.
Anticipated Return for EC – Grade 6
During the past few weeks, as we have enjoyed the presence of most of our Grade 7 – 12 students on our lovely campus, we have continued to meet regularly with DOET (Department of Education and Training) to ensure that we have the most up-to-date information on re-opening plans for all grade levels in HCMC.
After the Tết holiday, grades 7-12 will continue to study from campus. We expect that all students who are well and are physically in HCMC will attend school on campus. And, of course, we will continue to virtually support all of those students outside of HCMC.
Based on the information that we received today, we also expect that students in EC – Grade 6 will be allowed to begin returning to campus after the Tet Holiday, with orientations on February 10 and 11. You can expect detailed information and schedules from your child’s divisional principals, as they are planning a staggered return and orientation.

So that parents of students in EC – Grade 6 will fully understand the health and safety measures and protocols, we will host a Return to Campus Q & A session on Monday, January 24 for these parents.

Following our Q&A session, parents of students in EC – Grade 6 will receive a survey to help us prepare for on-campus learning and determine how many EC – Grade 6 students will return once allowed.
