Schedule Changes to Maximize In-Person Learning Benefits

134

Dear ES Parents,

Now that most of our wonderful students are on campus, we want to ensure that we do everything we can to keep them here and continue taking advantage of the opportunities that in-person learning offers.

Maximize In-Person Benefits and Connections

As your children establish routines and develop bonds with classmates and teachers, smaller, close-knit pods clearly benefit their learning experience. As smaller pods also minimizes close contact with students from other homerooms, they also increase health and safety.

Schedule Changes Starting February 17

Starting Thursday, February 17, we will introduce the following changes:

  • Students will attend Vietnamese class in their homeroom. The homeroom TA will lead the Vietnamese classes for their own homeroom students. Virtual students will be supported by Ms. Mai and Ms. Ha. Friday after-school Vietnamese classes for selected Grade 4 and 5 students will held virtually, and classwork will be assigned asynchronously. You will receive more information from your child’s Vietnamese teacher.
  • Library, Make Space & SparkLab available by homeroom teacher scheduling only. To prevent homeroom classes from mixing during recess, the library, Maker Space and Spark lab will not be open during recess. Homeroom teachers will continue to schedule and use these spaces during classtime, so your child will still have access to these areas.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Dr. Daniel J. Keller, PhD
Elementary School Principal
