Update: Another Fantastic Week on Campus

    221

    Dear SSIS Parents,

What a fantastic week we’ve had on campus! Once again, our school was full of activity – the way it should be.

For one, we held our first in-person parent meeting on campus this school year. During the meeting, I provided parents with an update on Vision 2030, shared details of the anticipated building start, and shared results from the Community Survey (full slideshow, here). Thank you to all of those who attended! It was a pleasure to see you on campus (and treat you to a surprise tour around our facilities).

Also, we had the internationally-acclaimed Vietnamese author of “The Mountains Sing,” Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai, hold a reading and Q&A for high school students in our auditorium. She shared a powerful message of how writing helped her find forgiveness, connect to and celebrate her home country and give agency to the forgotten voices.

Our auditorium also set the stage for a live band concert by students for their classmates and teachers – which was live-streamed on Youtube.

As you can see, our school is bustling with activity, and your children are making the most of these last weeks of school. We are so fortunate that your children can finish the year strongly on campus!

I wish all of our families a wonderful extended weekend.

    All good wishes,

    Dr. Catriona Moran
