AS: Talking to Children About Violence: Tips for Parents and Teachers

    44

    Dear Parents,

In light of a number of violent incidents around the world and the potential for our students’ exposure through media and other sources, providing strategies and language for parents and teachers to access is a recommended practice for schools.  Attached is a publication from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), entitled “Talking to Children About Violence: Tips for Parents and Teachers.” They have provided translations in Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese.  If any parents are looking for resources to help them talk to their children about the topic of violence, you may find these helpful.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel J. Keller, PhD

    Elementary School Principal
