Re-enrollment 2020-2021

     Dear SSIS Parents,

It is an honor to be part of such an impressive community. I am proud to work with your sons and daughters as they mature into young men and women of academic excellence and outstanding character. Our students’ and teachers’ dedication to Virtual School during these challenging times is nothing short of amazing. While we do not yet know the Government requirements for the next few months, we will be ready for Virtual School, Physical School, or a hybrid of both, if necessary.

We have reached the time of year when we begin to plan for the coming academic year. The Admissions Office has been open throughout the extended campus closure and reports that spaces at SSIS continue to be in high demand. That is why we are asking that you submit your family’s reenrollment intention for next year by April 6.

Although it is critical for the school to know as soon as possible if your child will be returning, we also understand that some community members are facing challenges as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and may not be able to make a decision yet. For any such community members, we have added an “Unsure” option to the reenrollment system, and encourage you to reach out to us and make us aware of your situation.

Please log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal, click the reenrollment button in the navigation column at left. Select one of the following:

    • “Yes” – if you are returning to SSIS for the 2020-2021 academic year. We will keep a space for your child in the next grade. If you select “Yes” and are re-enrolling your child, you will be asked to read and agree to the enrollment contract. This contract will be updated annually.
    • “No” – if you are not returning to SSIS for the 2020-2021 academic year. We will offer that space to another family. If you select “No,” you will be asked to complete and submit the departure questionnaire.
    • “Unsure” – if you, due to personal or professional uncertainties related to the worldwide COVID-19 crises, cannot answer yet. We will keep your space as long as we can, but cannot guarantee that it will remain available. We will notify you before we give your child’s space to another student.

You will find step-by-step instructions on SSIS Link.

We will provide you with the 2020-2021 tuition schedule once we have a better understanding of the impact of COVID-19 and are able to determine the type of educational environment that will be necessary next year. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

I wish you and your families a safe and healthy Spring Break. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any comments, questions, or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Catriona Moran

    Head of School
