Head of School Update, September 3: Vaccine Registration Begins for Children 12-18

    62

    Dear SSIS Parents,

We hope you are enjoying a peaceful family weekend with your children. Today, we are delighted to share with you that as the Vietnamese government continues its fight against COVID-19, it is now providing an opportunity for students 12 – 18 years old to register for vaccinations. This registration information is being communicated through wards and building management.

Although the time frame and the process of vaccinating children in HCMC are still unclear, we encourage you to register if your ward or building management has provided an online or paper registration for child COVID vaccination. We encourage you to place your children’s names on all registration lists that become available and to accept the vaccine for your child (over 12) whenever it is offered. Don’t delay if you have an opportunity.

Getting vaccines for our students is a priority for SSIS, and we have a team working closely with the government authorities DOET and CDC D7. We will explore all options for students to become vaccinated. As we have more information, we will be sure to share it with you.

In the near future, the SSIS Health Office will survey all families to determine the vaccine status of their children. Our vaccination policies will follow the directives as outlined by the government and we hope to have your cooperation in fulfilling the requirements.

The health and safety of our community are of the highest priority, and we will work together with you to ensure that we do all we can to have your children return to school as soon as possible.

    All good wishes,
