Dear High School Parents,

We have had a fantastic start to the school year in the High School.  The year kicked off on Tuesday with a high-energy and engaging High School Orientation Program designed and facilitated by our High School Student Union (Student Council and House Captains).  The orientation program allowed high school students, both new and returning, to reconnect with one another, explore the campus, and meet their teachers.

High School Parent Orientation

It was wonderful to see so many of you on campus again during orientation.  I look forward to many more opportunities for us to come together and connect.  If you were not able to attend our orientation session on Tuesday, August 9, you can find my presentation here, SSIS All High School Parent Welcome Address.

School-Home Partnership

We rely heavily upon our partnership with you, the parents, of our students.  Together we can best support your children, our students, to meet with the greatest degree of success this year.  As we begin the year, we are working diligently to establish a culture of learning where students will thrive and flourish.  Key to ensuring student success are dress code, attendance, and academic integrity.  You can help your children to meet our expectations, as laid out in the High School Handbook 2022-2023, by ensuring that your child is:

  • wearing only clothing items purchased at the school store and a collared shirt always (p.17)
  • arriving to school on time and attending all classes (p. 46-48)
  • completing their assignments in a timely manner and submitting only their own work (p. 32-36)

As I shared with the high school students earlier this week, this is going to be the best school year yet!  Together we have the power to make it so.

All my very best,

Ms. Jennifer Mendes

High School Principal
