Dear Parents of HS Students,

Please be reminded that the March 27th Professional Development Day is switched to Monday, March 30th. School is in session on March 27th.

Please be informed that representatives from the University of Sidney and the University of Queensland will be visiting SSIS on Monday, 16 March. They will be located in the HS library at 9:20.  You are cordially invited to meet with the recruiters along with interested student.

We will be continuing to register students for their courses for next year.  The schedule is as follows:

  • Current grade 9 course registration sheets due to HS Counsellor by the end of the day on Monday, 16 March. They will then register electronically on Thursday, 19 March during advisory.
  • Current grade 10 electronic course registration will take place during advisory on Monday, 16 March.
  • Grade 11 students have already completed the registration process and will participate in an AEO college fair in the MPR during advisory.

Once all students have submitted their course registration sheets and participated in registering electronically for their courses, the process of developing the optimum master schedule that minimises conflicts and maximises the number of students being able to have completed schedules comprised of all of their first choices of courses begins.  Counsellors will meet with students during this time to resolve any conflicts. This is a labor intensive process with the goal being to finish schedules in time to provide students their course schedules for next year by the end of the current academic year.

Have an enjoyable week.

Mr. Kruk

High School Principal
