Dear SSIS Parents,
At this time, we are monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak in HCMC, heeding government directives, and awaiting confirmation of the opening status of schools for August.
Until we can provide you with definitive information, we are preparing to support teaching and learning in the virtual environment.
Rest assured that we will provide you with ample information, info sessions, and the high level of support that you have come to expect from us during the COVID pandemic.
Today I would like to share two important resources: first, an invitation to an online COVID situation update, and second, information about the government vaccination program.
1. Expert Session – HCMC Outbreak & Vaccine Status
You are invited to attend an expert information session regarding the current outbreak in Ho Chi Minh City, the government measures to curb the outbreak, and the status of vaccines, presented by Dr. Phi from International SOS and our Health Office Manager Lisa Chute.
The session will be held in English and Vietnamese.
I encourage you to submit any questions you have via this form, and Dr. Phi and Ms. Chute will do their best to address them during the session.

About the Presenters
As a Medical Director for International SOS Vietnam, Dr. TRUONG Hoang Phu Phi supports medical services and assistance center operations. Since joining International SOS in 1998, Dr. Phi has provided quality advisory services on occupational health and gained extensive expertise. Dr. Phi is the Head of National Doctors for HCMC and serves as the medical advisor for SSIS.
Lisa Chute joined SSIS in January 2020 as Health Office Manager to support and guide the SSIS community through health and safety protocols related to COVID-19. Lisa is a licensed Canadian nurse with 30 years of experience in infectious diseases, public health, and nurse education.
2. Registering for Vaccination
The second resource that I would like to share with you is the news of the vaccination registration, announced by the Ministry of Health. Anyone over 18 can register for the COVID vaccine in one of two ways:
- Through the online portal: https://tiemchungcovid19.gov.
vn/portal - Through the E-Health app: Apple, Android
This article provides detailed information in English about the two registration options.
Although currently only available in Vietnamese, the government will be updating the E-Health app with an English version, hopefully within the next few weeks. Until then, we have created this step-by-step guide in English to support those who wish to register now using the Vietnamese language version of the app.
