HS Curriculum Night, Tuesday, August 31, 6:00 pm

Dear SSIS HS Parents,

The school year is off to a great start! Students are engaged in vibrant and meaningful lessons and sharing how happy they are to see classmates and teachers.

High School Curriculum Night is coming up on Tuesday, August 31, at 6:00 pm. It is an important opportunity for you to learn about the objectives of your child’s classes and what teachers expect from your child. Please see the email for the Zoom link.

During Curriculum Night, you will:

  • Meet each teacher and learn how to contact them
  • Learn about each course
  • View curriculum resources

What to Expect

Curriculum Night will be held in two parts. First, a live welcome assembly, which will start promptly at 6:00 pm. You will hear from High School Principal Ms. Jennifer Mendes as well as the subject area Heads of Department.  You will also learn how Schoology supports and guides students in their learning.

We would love to hear from you and learn what questions you might have. We can then answer your questions during this event. Submit your questions through this form: HS Curriculum Night Q&A

The second part of Curriculum Night is independent. During this part, we ask that you watch each of your child’s teachers’ videos on their course page in Schoology. You will learn more about the course and the teacher’s expectations. Once done, we encourage you to spend some time in Schoology to learn where to find current assignments, due dates, teachers’ contact information, and other course resources (this parent guide can be helpful). If you have questions about the courses, please use Schoology’s email feature to contact the teacher.

Preparing for Curriculum Night

The only preparation is to make sure that you have access to Schoology, before Curriculum Night. Without it, you will not be able to access the courses and teachers’ videos. If you need any help, please contact ict@ssis.edu.vn.

I am very excited to welcome you into our virtual classrooms so that you can get a feel for your child’s experience as a High School student at SSIS, and learn more about their courses and teachers.

Sincerely,

Ms. Jennifer Mendes
High School Principal
