Welcoming Students on SSIS Campus – Schedule and Orientations

    153

    Dear SSIS Parents,

I hope that the Tet holiday has been a relaxing and enjoyable family time for all of our SSIS families. What a positive start to the Year of the Tiger. A number of our families who have been outside Vietnam since the summer have returned, in addition, we start welcoming back all of our students this week and next.

Below, you will find important details of the upcoming schedule this week. Also, please note that all families will be required to complete the Student Health and Travel survey for each student EC – G12 before they are allowed back on campus (even if one was submitted before the break). The survey will be sent out by the Health Office.

    G7 – 12 Schedule for Week of February 7-11

Tomorrow, Monday, February 7, students in grades 7-12 will continue learning on campus.

Naturally, we understand that specific circumstances may prevent some students from attending in-person school. Otherwise, however, we expect to see all grade 7 – 12 students on campus this week. We will continue to run concurrent learning for those few students who cannot attend in-person school.

EC- G6 Schedule for Week of February 7-11

February 7 – 9, grades EC-6 will continue learning virtually. Student on-campus orientations will be held on February 10 and 11 for all grades EC-6, and you will receive more details from your child’s principal.

Before students’ on-campus orientations, we will be holding parent information sessions for parents of students in EC – G6. Please note the dates and times below:

    Grades 3 – 6 Parent Orientation, Monday, February 7, 6:00 – 7:00 pm
    https://zoom.us/j/91684751696

    Grades EC – 2 Parent Orientation, Tuesday, February 8, 6:00 – 7:00 pm
    https://zoom.us/j/99028833201
    Meeting ID: 990 2883 3201

If you cannot attend the parent orientation session, this video of the Return to Campus information session we held for parents before the break provides details about our rigorous health and safety protocols, and also answers many of parents’ most commonly asked questions.

    Mandatory Health and Travel Survey

Before students are allowed on campus this week, parents must submit the UPDATED Student Health and Travel Survey sent out by the Health Office Manager, Lisa Chute. For students in grades 7 -12, this means the survey should be completed today.

    Health and Safety Protocols

In addition to the mandatory health and travel survey, the school expects every student to take a Rapid COVID test before coming to campus. This can be a SELF TEST at home.

You will find more details regarding our health and safety protocols in these 4 short videos. Please also consult our reopening campus web page, which addresses logistical matters of getting the campus ready for physical school, how the school implements 5K, and what happens if there is an F0 on campus.

As we begin to welcome more students back to physical school, we are pleased to share that 100% of our on-campus faculty and staff are fully vaccinated, and over 50% have already received their booster shots. In addition, all faculty and staff will undergo a COVID self-test before returning to campus tomorrow.

We are truly looking forward to the weeks and months ahead as we continue to provide an excellent experience for your children in a safe environment.

Welcome to the Year of the Tiger! May it bring health, happiness, and success to our SSIS community!

    All good wishes,

    Dr. Catriona Moran
    Head of School
