Ukraine – Organizations Coordinating Humanitarian Aid

    100

    Dear SSIS Parents,

This weekend, SSIS hosted the SEASAC Model United Nations Conference (MUN). The conference explored a range of difficult issues, such as the lack of protection for migrant workers, how to alleviate the motherhood penalty, and the crisis in Ukraine. Our 150 MUN delegates (students in grades 9-12) demonstrated empathy, passion, and conviction as they discussed these real-world challenges.

For our students and future leaders, opportunities such as MUN are crucial in cultivating the values and characteristics they will need in addressing the significant challenges facing our world.

Following my message on Friday, when I spoke about the current crisis in Ukraine, many members of our community have contacted me to ask how they can help, specifically, how they can donate to those in need. The two organizations below have been recommended by parents in our community as reliable organizations that are coordinating humanitarian aid.

Within our own community, we have several families of Ukrainian and Russian descent. They are our friends and family members, students, and colleagues, and we will keep those impacted by this current situation in our hearts and minds and do what we can to support them.

As we continue to nurture and live our Core Values, and work towards making the world a better place, let us do so through our words and through our actions.

    All good wishes,

    Dr. Catriona Moran
