Updates on Physical School, Parent Conferences and New Hires

    Dear SSIS Parents,

As we finish up the fifth week of physical school after the break, I’m excited to share the following updates with you.

Before doing so, I would like to thank you for your quick response to our Health Office’s request last week to upload your children’s Covid-19 vaccine records to the SSIS Health app. Your cooperation and support are crucial to our Health Office’s ability to maintain smooth and efficient processes.

Just as your involvement in the school has a positive impact, so does your participation in your child’s learning. We hope that each family will make attending parent conferences next Thursday and Friday a priority. Conferences are a unique opportunity to understand more about your child’s progress and goals this year and learn how to best support them.

Although Covid continues to impact our community and the country, we are pleased that nearly 85% of students eligible to attend school in person were here with us on campus this week. Overall there are numerous benefits of students attending physical school, and we expect that this number will continue to increase.

Throughout this current Covid outbreak, our faculty’s dedication to your children has been, as always, unwavering. Over the past few weeks, several faculty and admin have substituted in classes as needed to ensure all students’ uninterrupted learning.

This unwavering dedication to students’ success is foundational to our school and recruitment of teachers. We have just completed hiring all of our teachers for the 2022 – 2023 school year and can’t wait to introduce them to you. You will find that they are all passionate educators who have extensive experience in leading students to success.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and the very best in your upcoming parent conferences!

    All good wishes,

    Dr. Catriona Moran
