Dear SSIS Community,
We are excited to announce that in just a few weeks, on December 16 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, the PTA will host our annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Bazaar! Details about this event are at the end of this post.
First, we would like to invite our community to join us in a wonderful opportunity to make Christmas special for the children of Te Phan Orphanage in District 3, by providing each and every child at the orphanage with a gift.
Provide a Gift for a Child
Beginning on Thursday, December 1, the PTA bulletin board in the SSIS Plaza will be filled with stars. Each star will have the name, age, and gender of a child from the orphanage. To provide a child with a gift, all you have to do is:
- Select a star from the board
- Purchase and wrap a gift (value approximately 200,000 VND)
- Place the gift, with the star attached, under the SSIS Christmas tree in the Plaza any time between December 5 – 14
The PTA will ensure that each child has a gift before delivering the presents to the orphanage.
Additional Support for the Te Phan Orphanage
The orphanage is also in need of commercial-grade blenders and children’s shoes. Although each child gets a new pair of shoes every two years, about half of the children are already in need of new ones. If you would like to contribute to these items, the PTA will graciously accept donations at this bank account of our PTA treasurer:

Christmas Tree Lighting and Bazaar, December 16
On December 5, the PTA will help set up the Christmas tree to mark the beginning of the holiday festivities. The PTA Christmas Tree Lighting and Bazaar will take place in the SSIS Plaza on Friday, December 16 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
During this event, the band and choir will perform Christmas songs, and the PTA will hand out popcorn, cotton candy, candy canes, and other festive treats. Vendors will be selling jewelry, Christmas ornaments, and gift baskets, too! And you will be able to decorate Christmas cookies, make Christmas cards, or pop into our seasonal photo booth to take festive holiday photos with friends and family!
We look forward to celebrating this holiday season with our SSIS community, and, with your help, supporting the children of the Te Phan Orphanage.
