    Dear SSIS Parents,

What an exciting day it has been on our campus! Once again your children’s voices filled our hallways and classrooms. And there is truly no better sound than hearing them start off the year talking, laughing, collaborating, and learning as they establish connections and friendships in person.

Starting off the school year together with everyone on campus is an important part of re-establishing our vibrant and involved community after the two challenging years we have had. That is why I was particularly grateful to see so many of you on campus during our orientation day yesterday. What an incredibly positive start to the 2022-2023 school year!

Our new PTA was also on-site to welcome parents yesterday. They have enthusiastically embraced their work and have many wonderful things in store for our community this school year. We hope that you will attend the PTA Welcome Coffee at 8:15 in the Auditorium this Friday, August 12 to hear about their exciting plans.

Lastly, I’d like to thank all of our parents who were on campus for drop-off and pick-up today. It went smoother than expected for the first day, and we will continue to make improvements. We are so grateful for your cooperation and support in implementing our new traffic guidelines.

As you can see, we already have much to celebrate as a community. So, tonight, as you listen to your children’s stories from their first day of school, please congratulate them, and yourselves, on a very successful start to the school year.

    All best wishes,

    Dr. Catriona Moran
